The Endocannabinoid System (ECS)

The Endocannabinoid System is a specialized network of cellular communication. It is a super dynamic system that supports cellular communication. It is fundamental for almost every body process. It sets the framework to send and receive high levels of cellular information. It is known to influence and support almost all behaviour in the body. 

It controls the way that cells share their messages with different tissues and organs, thus helping them to better perform. It is a major part of the central and peripheral nervous system and a fundamental part of the immune system. The ECS is so fundamental to our survival If this system is out of balance, it is almost impossible to conceive a child. 

The ECS uses all three components to modulate and support a host of different body processes.  Endocannabinoids are messengers that have vital information for different body processes. The way they get their information into the cells is through trafficking areas called receptors. 

This communication is sometimes referred to as a lock and key type of signaling.  The endocannabinoid are the messengers that want to share information with the body. They must do that at special areas in the cells called receptors. The endocannabinoids must unlock the receptors so they can communicate and transfer data.   The endocannabinoids are the keys and the receptors are the locks. 

The ECS is highly integrated and intuitive however, it is not immune to damage. When the ECS is working efficiently it can help the body ward off illness and disease. It assists the body’s healing processes and supports body system functions.
